PROFILE OF  COLORECTAL CARSINOMA

WEST SUMATERA FOR 5 YEARS (2006-2010)

Abstract

Background 

Carcinoma colorectal is the third most common type of cancer that occurs in the world. In order to increase efforts for early detection and appropriate treatment is needed epidemiological data from cases of colorectal malignancies.

Object 

The retrospective study by looking at epidemiological data of colorectal malignancy.

Method

Data collected from histopathologic appearance of tissue that send to department of anatomic pathology for 5 years between 2006 - 2010

Result 

Found 313 cases of colorectal malignancy in West Sumatera during the 2006-2010. Mostly suffered by women with 166 cases (53%). The commonest age was >60 years with 111 cases (35,5%). The most histopathologic type was adenocarsinoma with 254 cases (81,1%), and mostly located in rectum with 232 cases (74,1%).

Conclusion

Based on data from colorectal cancer during the past five years, found a shift in epidemiological pattern where the number of patients with more women than men. On the other hand the range of age, location and histopathology did not change significantly

Latar belakang

Kanker kolorektal menduduki peringkat ketiga jenis kanker yang paling sering terjadi di dunia. Untuk menIngkatkan upaya deteksi dini dan penanganan yang tepat perlu diketahui data epidemiologi dari kasus keganasan kolorektal tersebut.

Objek

Penelitian retrospektif dengan melihat data epidemiologi keganasan kolorektal.

Metode

Data dikumpulkan dari catatan medis pasien yang dirawat di bagian bedah RS DR M.Djamil dari tahun 2006 sampai 2010.
